Cake eyeliner or Pencil eyeliner? Which is Better ?

For a super glam and professional look cake eyeliner is hands down the best eyeliner you can use. It's also economical since it lasts much longer than pencil eyeliner. Cake liners can be used for the most thin eyeliner placement up to the most dramatic thick lines. You can get cake eyeliners in so many colors too, from the blackest black, to such colors as navy cake eyeliner if you want a change from black. If you do choose to use pencil eyeliners buy the mineral pencil eyeliners because they're a much better quality and blend better.



Pencil eyeliner
 These are colorful eyeliners that come in pencil form. You can get mineral pencil eyeliner, and other eyeliners that are inexpensive, to very expensive. What kind of eyeliner you buy largely depends on what type of look you're trying to achieve. Pencils can work well for defined looks.



How to apply mineral pencil eyeliner
Choose your color and then make sure it is sharp. Apply the liner to the edge of the eyelash on the top and bottom lashes then use a makeup brush to smudge. In a pinch you can use a Q-tip to smudge.

Cake eyeliner
The eyeliner most used by professionals due to its adaptability to any look. It's a long-lasting, versatile eyeliner that can be used to achieve many different looks from dramatic to the classic smoky eye. Using different types of brushes is what helps you achieve the look you want. You can use mini brushes to get extra fine lines, or use a thicker brush to get a thicker lined look.

How to apply cake eyeliner

To apply cake eyeliner evenly it's good to wet the brush a bit first, then dip the mini brush into your favorite color of cake eyeliner. To keep the line thin, apply less pressure, to make the line thicker and more dramatic apply more pressure. Make sure you allow the liner to dry before you open your eyes so that you don't get it all over you.




Types of eyeliner brushes
You can get different types of eyeliner brushes to use depending on the look you want to achieve. There are mini brushes, angle brushes, round brushes and more. Just choose your brush based on the look you want as well as the type of eyeliner you are using. For more exact placement choose a mini brush, for more smudged look you can choose a larger brush, perhaps an angle brush.
